Individualized Treatment
Substance abuse and addiction impacts all areas of life but the way we experience the challenges of addiction differ greatly. Treatment that works for one person may offer little to another, and it is vital for treatment success that therapies match the needs of the individual.
Staff at 12 Oaks will work with each client to develop an individual treatment plan encompassing a complete continuum of care, from intake to long time aftercare. Individual treatment plans will vary depending on the needs of the individual, but often include an array of individual and group therapies, 12 steps involvement, educational seminars, family therapy and individualized assignments.
Adult Program
Therapeutic program elements include:
- A comprehensive intake evaluation, including psychological testing, if necessary
- Detoxification services
- Individual and group therapy
- Experiential group therapy
- Psycho educational lectures
- Relapse prevention planning
- Aftercare program
- 12 steps participation and steps study
The adult chemical dependency residential program at 12 Oaks is based on a 12 steps philosophy and on individualized and comprehensive treatment that continues long after the end of a residential stay.
Adolescent Program
Teens needing substance abuse treatment have different needs from adult clients, and it's vital that teens receive care in an age appropriate program.
The adolescent program at 12 Oaks offers teen patients a comprehensive mix of age appropriate therapies based on a 12 steps philosophy, and combines therapeutic elements with a strong academic program, ensuring that time spent in treatment is time spent advancing scholastic success as well as improving behavioral health.
Adolescent therapeutic elements include:
- A comprehensive intake assessment that incorporates psychological testing ( if necessary) with a patient history and a physical evaluation
- The development of an individualized treatment plan that meets the needs and challenges facing each and every client
- Individual therapy sessions with a masters level clinician

Academics
Masters level teachers working at 12 Oaks will work with each student's home school to develop an appropriate curriculum that is transferable to academic credit on return to school. Because of small groups and individual attention, students can benefit greatly from the tutoring of teachers with time to help.
Chronic Pain Treatment
12 oaks offers a special program for people with chronic pain who have become dependent on pain relieving medications, such as OxyContin, vicodin, fentanyl, morphine and other opiates.
We help patients break free from a physical dependency on these medications. Many people who stop taking opiates with our assistance find that their comfort actually improves after the cessation of medications that were supposedly helping manage pain.
The chronic pain treatment program includes therapeutic program elements such as:
- Individualized therapeutic planning
- Medical observation and monitoring
- Individual therapy
- Physical activity therapy
- Group therapy with other chronic pain sufferers
- Relapse prevention therapy
