Sunrise Ranch offers new life to young men who struggle deeply with addiction or dual diagnosis. It is a ranch environment for relapse prone men requiring very structured supervision and intensive therapeutic services; a home of clinical excellence in a setting that is truly home-like.

Sunrise ranch offers a full continuum of care, individualized treatment, and boasts an industry leading 2 to 1 staff to client ratio. The ranch is situated on rolling green hills and rooms show breathtaking mountain views. Rooms are comfortable and clean and amenities include a swimming pool and a hot tub, for relaxation. Sunrise Ranch is a member treatment center of the Sober Living by the Sea organization, one of America’s most respected rehabilitation facilities and benefits from over 30 years of treatment experience and excellence.

Sunrise ranch employs only experienced and licensed clinical staff that use evidence based and effective therapies. The Sunrise Ranch program works; it changes young men for the better, and so most insurance companies reward our long history of clinical excellence with preferred provider status.

The Therapeutic Program

Every man begins his recovery journey at The Ranch with an intensive medical exam, drug screening test and psychiatric evaluation, and from these test results, an individualized treatment plan is developed.

The program philosophy draws much from the 12 steps and combines them with:

• Individual and group therapies
• Relapse prevention and discharge planning
• Educational groups and seminars
• Recreational therapy
• A 3 day long family program
• Medication management of withdrawal symptoms (if appropriate)
• Outside psychiatric services, to those that require them
• Life skills training
• Anger management classes
• Much more

Stages of Care

Addiction recovery takes time. It is a multi phased journey requiring varying levels of care along the way – Sunrise Ranch is proud to offer all clients a full continuum of care, from initial detoxification services to long lasting continuing care and alumni services. Our commitment to you is for life.

Men needing a medical detox can withdraw safely and under medical supervision with one of our partner facilities prior to entry into the ranch home. Detox programs offer initial therapies and an introduction to the 12 steps and make use of medications like Suboxone or Vivitrol to minimize the discomforts of the withdrawal process.

Most men will stay at Sunrise Ranch for 30 days of intensive and closely supervised primary care rehab. Most men will benefit greatly from participation in continuing step-down care upon program graduation and many transition into an extended care program at Sober Living by the Sea (90 days, most typically).

Continuing recovery services can include:

• Extended care living

Statistics show that the longer the participation in addiction treatment the better the chances of success; and so we offer those that come to us for care a lifelong anchor of recovery services.

12 Steps Community Meetings

Men will participate in community based 12 steps meetings while residing at Sunrise Ranch. Getting a toehold into the recovery community on the outside proves invaluable when returning to the home and community, and with it, to temptation.

Recreation

Men in early recovery must believe that sober life will be preferable to a life of drugs or alcohol – and some men come into our program after such heavy use or such a length of use, that they have forgotten how to have fun without drugs or alcohol. These men must learn that sobriety can be a whole lot of fun!

In addition, men can only stay seated and engaged in intense therapy for so many hours consecutively – everyone needs a break once in a while – and so we make sure to incorporate a bit of sober fun into each and every day.

Recreational activities include:

• Hiking trips
• Softball games
• Movie or bowling outings
• Swimming or relaxing in our hot tub
• Gym exercise
• Basketball
• Go carting
• Much more!

The Family Program

Family members play an enormously important role in the recovery process for each man at Sunrise Ranch, and so family members are invited to participate in a 3 day recovery workshop, on site, nearing the end of a 30 day primary care stay. Family members will participate in:

• Whole family therapy sessions
• Multi family group therapy sessions
• Addiction based educational seminars
• Recreational events

No addict uses or drinks in a vacuum and so family members almost invariably suffer as well. Addiction can do great harm to family health and repairing a sense of whole family well being can take a concerted effort – but with guidance and effort, family dynamics and relationships will mend. Family members can also prove invaluable in relapse prevention efforts, and so each family member will be taught exactly what he or she can do to help a loved one in recovery successfully manage temptation.
