Residential Adult Addiction Treatment

Patients needing the structure and supervised support of an inpatient environment benefit from inclusion into our 28 day residential treatment program. 

At Wilmington we believe that addiction treatment must match the needs of each client, and so we develop an individualized treatment plan that complements the history and requirements of each individual client. Therapeutic program elements include group therapy, educational workshops and lectures and 12 steps group participation and study. Clients work towards achieving certain goals by the end of addiction treatment, (not necessarily by the end of the residential part of addiction treatment) such as:

• Achieving an improvement in self esteem and feelings of self worth
• Learning how to communicate more effectively with the family
• Interpersonal and relationship skills improvement
• Readiness for job productivity or school success
• Readiness to make the lifestyle changes necessary for lasting recovery
• Setting appropriate and realistic life goals

The residential program at Wilmington includes a medically monitored detoxification protocol for those in need of assisted withdrawal; doctors at Wilmington will prescribe Suboxone or methadone as necessary.

A longer participation in addiction treatment is correlated with better eventual sobriety outcomes. All clients receiving residential addiction treatment at Wilmington are entitled to an additional 12 weeks of outpatient aftercare treatment without cost, following the completion of a residential period of stay.

Insurance and Financial Information

Wilmington provides quality evidence based addiction treatment at the lowest possible sustainable cost to clients. We work with Medicaid, Medicare and county referrals and are a preferred addiction treatment provider for most major private insurance companies, such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, and many others.
