Aspen Achievement Academy Wilderness Therapy
Program Description:
Aspen Achievement Academy is a year-round, licensed treatment program that combines a fully accredited academic curriculum with outdoor learning in a therapeutic wilderness setting. Journeying through the red rock country of Southern Utah, adolescents ages 13 to 17 learn traditional academic subjects under the clear desert skies, immersed in some of the world’s most stunning natural landscapes. In this hands-on environment, students discover the joy of learning, become aware of their behaviors and thought patterns, and develop skills that provide a firm foundation for continued personal and academic success.
Why Choose Us:
Wide open spaces, life-changing adventures, and intense personal growth – that’s what you’ll find at Aspen Achievement Academy. At Aspen, wilderness becomes a metaphor for life. As students master skills like cooperation, appreciation, and healthy decision-making, they progress through a series of “rites of passage” that represent the stages of growth. Growing from mouse to coyote to buffalo to eagle under the careful direction of skilled field instructors and therapists, this personal journey ultimately ends with the graduation ceremony – the transition to responsible young adulthood.
With more than 10 years of proven success in innovative outdoor therapy, Aspen Achievement Academy has earned the distinguished JCAHO Gold Seal of Approval, the highest level of professional accreditation available. As a nationally recognized clinical program, AAA is contracted with insurance companies, managed care organizations, and employer groups to provide treatment for mental health and substance abuse, and has been featured repeatedly in the news and popular media. Come discover the fire within at Aspen Achievement Academy!
